I have heard nothing back from the staff. I am trying to be able to afford to go to college next year and continue in my program but FASFA does not give me enough to cover my tuition. My dental books yearly are around $1000 and my dental kits are also around $1000. The program I am in is Dental Hygiene and it has been condensed down to only 2 years. You are forced to take summer classes in this program, which FASFA does not cover. Its so condensed that I am forced to take 9 classes or more a semester. Which it takes up so much of my time that I am literally unable work. My savings is running low and the only thing I can think of doing now, is filling out as many scholarships that I find.

The Stars and Stripes 50th Anniversary Edition Issue from 1995 has a retrospective on Shel, with excerpts from an earlier interview from 1969. The Old Dogs site has a full-length article about the making of the album, a special project involving Silverstein, Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Bobby Bare, and Jerry Reed.
