As far as Tami's job and career path/trajectory, keep in mind it's Texas which in addition to trying to have as much evolutionary theory purged from all science textbooks and replaced with JEBUS FREAK garbage, which is a huge issue because Texas happens to be the largest purchaser of school textbooks so the state has an oversized influence on what those textbooks say education is not all that high on the priority list, in fact a good% of the population feels that the ONLY thing that all schools should be eliminated or that the ONLY thing that should be taught is the Bible. No math. No foreign language. DEFINITELY no science. No art classes. Just the Bible. Oh, and gym classes, so the football team can be good. I am not kidding. Is it realistic that her career path would go the way it did? Not really. She definitely would have had to get some GOOD references for the college job and they would have had some tough questions as to what went down to make her switch from being principal to guidance counselor.
